The Life I Know Music Video

I served as the director of animation on this music video for the Filipino band the Itchyworms! Working with director Marie Jamora and cinematographer Jason McLagan, I did all the pre-production, including character and set designs and storyboards/animatic, and also oversaw the fabrication and animation.

One of the themes we wanted to explore in this film was the relationship between dreams and birth/new life. Marie was specifically interested in the nature of limitless possibility that exists in dreams and also in the womb. After doing some research into traditional Filipino craft, I learned about the T'Boli Dream Weavers, which are a group of artists who only weave patterns that come to them in dreams. We decided to make the dream/in-womb world out of real T'Boli woven fabric, linking dreams and the beginning of new life in a uniquely stop motion and uniquely Filipino way.
